Consolidometer accessories are used in soil consolidation testing and offer precision performance in the laboratory. Products are designed to meet applicable specifications and provide accurate results when used with Gilson products or compatible equipment from other manufacturers. Accessories for Consolidometers include Porous Stones, Filter Paper, Calibration Discs, and Cutting Sample Rings. Each item correlates to specific sizes, and all can be matched inappropriate size for use together.
Porous Stones are round, 0.25in (6.35mm) thick, and available in diameters from 1.95 to 3.985in (50.4 to 101.22mm). The porous aluminum oxide stones allow water movement and drainage during testing and are used on top and bottom of specimens.
Calibration Discs have a height of 1.0in (25.4mm) and are made of stainless steel. They are used in place of soil samples to verify the performance and accuracy of matching-size Fixed or Floating-Ring Consolidometers and Consolidation Load Frames.
Cutting Sample Rings are stainless steel and available in inch or metric sizes from 1.985 to 4in (50 to 101.6mm). They pair with same-size Fixed or Floating Ring Consolidometers and hold the soil sample for testing. The integral cutting edge aids sample preparation.
Grade 55 Filter Paper for use in testing soil consolidation samples has high wet strength. This round paper filters fines and is equivalent to the Whatman Grade 54 filter paper used with a number of ASTM and AASHTO test standards.Select from five diameters ranging from 2.0 to 6.0in (51 to 152mm).
