A variety of rotors are available with a V-cutting, notched, or straight edge to adapt the mill to each cutting application.

The stainless steel rotor with a V-cutting edge is suited for size reduction of tough elastic materials. The tungsten carbide rotor with a V-cutting edge is suited for hard-tough materials. The hardened stainless steel rotor with notched edges is suited for samples with residual moisture and temperature-sensitive samples.

Notched edges prevent the grinding chamber from closing completely, allowing airflow and increasing throughput. Straight edges are suitable for hay, fibrous, biological, and other easily cuttable materials.

FTA-520 has a standard rotor with a V-cutting edge and fixed knives made of hardened stainless steel and is suitable for tough-elastic materials and films.

FTA-521 has a rotor with a V-cutting edge and fixed knives made of hardmetal tungsten carbide and is suitable for hard-tough materials.

FTA-522 has a rotor with a notched cutting edge and fixed knives made of hardened stainless steel. This set is suitable for samples with residual moisture, such as food, feed, or plants, and temperature-sensitive samples, such as plastics.
