Eighteen aggregate professionals participated in the Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association Ohio Level II Aggregate Technician Training at Gilson on March 28-29, 2018.
Gilson played host to aggregate technicians, lab techs, and instructors/trainers during the two-day program which included classroom training and a written exam on day one. On day two, participants gained hands-on experience in the Gilson Application Center. OAIMA generally holds three such sessions at Gilson throughout the year.
The training was attended by professionals representing 11 different companies and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The certification training program covers testing procedures, calculations and interactive demonstrations of sampling, sample reduction, washing, sieve analysis of coarse and fine aggregates, and more. This training, testing and certification program is the same as required by the Ohio Department of Transportation for its technicians.
OAIMA is Ohio’s trade association that represents all the mining operations, with the exception of coal, in the state. Visit OAIMA to learn more about the Ohio Levels I, II and III Aggregate Technician Training.
