Gilson’s Servo Control Load Frames feature a 10,000lbf (44.4kN) or 20,000lbf (88.9kN) load capacity and an extra-wide strain rate range of 0.00001–2in/min (0.0001–50.8mm/min). These load frames are ideal for performing a comprehensive range of soil mechanics applications, including CBR/LBR, triaxial shear, unconfined compression, soil-cement tests, and various asphalt tests. The strain rates are precisely regulated to within ±1% under load, utilizing closed-loop electronic feedback from a powerful 2hp continuous servo motor.
The Servo Control Load Frames are equipped with a human-machine interface (HMI) that allows users to easily input the desired strain rate quickly and accurately. The HMI controller displays the current strain rate throughout the test, while the servo motor continually acquires feedback to maintain the precise strain rate, regardless of the applied load.
Adjusting nuts on the 1.25in (31.75mm) coarse-threaded vertical rods allow easy height adjustment of the horizontal crosshead. A daylight opening of 11.9x37.3in (302.2x947.4mm), WxH accommodates CBR/LBR molds, triaxial cells, and test sample fixtures and components. The platen diameter is 8in (203.2mm). The rugged frames have sturdy 16ga powder-coated steel enclosures.
Gilson Load Frames are compatible with Digital Component Sets, which are configured for specific tests are purchased separately and enable full data collection. Each set features the high-quality instrumentation necessary to measure load and displacement. These test sets are designed for fast and easy installation and include an HM-418 Two-Channel Data Readout with GetData 5 software, an S-Type load cell, a 2in (50.8mm) LVDT, and the necessary fixtures and brackets for mounting.
