Grinding Disks are used with the Fritsch Disk Mill. One fixed and one movable disk are required to operate the mill and are available in a variety of materials. Typically, grinding disks of the same material are used. The material of the disks must always be harder than the sample to be ground.
Service life of the Grinding Disks can be extended by changing the rotation direction of the maintenance-free geared motor.
FTA-150 is a fixed disk made of hardened steel cast with a 200mm diameter, suitable for hard, brittle samples.
FTA-160 is a movable disk made of hardened steel cast with a 200mm diameter, suitable for hard, brittle samples.
FTA-151 is a fixed disk made of manganese steel with a 200mm diameter, suitable for very hard, brittle samples.
FTA-161 is a movable disk made of manganese steel with a 200mm diameter, suitable for very hard, brittle samples.
FTA-152 is a fixed disk made of hardmetal tungsten carbide with a 200mm diameter, suitable for very hard, abrasive samples.
FTA-162 is a movable disk made of hardmetal tungsten carbide with a 200mm diameter, suitable for very hard, abrasive samples.
FTA-153 is a fixed disk made of zirconium oxide with a 200mm diameter, suitable for medium-hard, brittle samples and metal-free grinding. Zirconium oxide disks should only be used to grind ceramic materials, minerals, and similar samples and never for hard-tough samples such as metals.
