Grinding Ball is used with the Fritsch Vibratory Micro Mill to grind sample material. Grinding Balls have a diameter of 50 or 70mm and are available in a variety of materials to adapt the mill to each grinding application.
A Grinding Ball and a Mortar are required to operate the Vibratory Micro Mill and are purchased separately. Typically, grinding bowls and balls of the same material are used.
FTA-10 has a 50mm diameter, is made of agate, and is suitable for soft to medium-hard samples. This ball is recommended as standard.
FTA-11 has a 70mm diameter, is made of agate, and is suitable for soft to medium-hard samples.
FTA-12 has a 50mm diameter, is made of sintered corundum, and is suitable for medium-hard, fibrous samples.
FTA-13 has a 50mm diameter, is made of zirconium oxide, and is suitable for fibrous, abrasive samples.
FTA-14 has a 50mm diameter, is made of hardened stainless steel, and is suitable for medium-hard, brittle samples.
FTA-15 has a 50mm diameter, is made of hardmetal tungsten carbide, and is suitable for hard, abrasive samples.
