Gilson 300 Series Concrete Compression Machines have 300 Mlbf (1,335kN) capacities and meet or exceed stringent ACI 363 recommendations. They can be outfitted with accessory fixtures to accommodate compressive strength testing of many different sized cubes, cores, masonry prisms and cylinders, as well as flexural beam specimens.
300 Series units feature a unique 1/2hp system for cool, quietly controlled operation. Compressive force is generated by the oil-immersed two-stage hydraulic pump powering the bottom mounted ram. In the first high-volume and low-pressure stage, the piston advances rapidly. The pump switches to the second stage automatically at 135psi of pressure. This low-volume high-pressure stage maintains a continuous rate of load from 2,000-200,000lbf per minute during testing.
The 6.5in (165mm) diameter upper spherically-seated platen assembly is hardened and nickel-plated with a locking stem that permits quick substitution of accessory components. The rectangular lower compression table features a precision-ground piston with O-ring sealing and Teflon® back-up ring resting in a polished steel cylinder.
Latchable steel Fragment Guard Doors and a high-pressure hydraulic safety valve promote protection while preventing use beyond maximum machine capacity. The piston has a pressure bleed hole to prevent overextension of the ram. Units feature side-mounted Controllers that can also be installed in a separate console. Contact us for customizations. These machines are supplied ready to test 6x12 concrete cylinders with sulfur caps or unbonded pads, but can be fitted with optional attachment sets for testing cubes, flexural beams and other cylinder sizes.
