BC-325 Series Basic Concrete Compression Machines perform strength tests for concrete cylinders, cubes, beams, cores, and grout prisms. These manually operated machines are versatile and cost-effective, making them ideal for many concrete strength testing applications.

The welded steel frame has solid steel crossheads that exceed ACI 363 requirements for system rigidity. With an integrated electric motor and hydraulic pump system, units operate at variable speeds to achieve and maintain the pressure required for the test. This configuration is energy efficient, reduces heat buildup, and extends the service life of hydraulic components.

Select the test protocol, view test data, and print or transfer data from the Windows-based human-machine interface (HMI). During a test, force, stress, and rate of load are displayed. The user can also choose to view real-time graphing of load vs time or stress vs strain. Handle machine setup, calibration, and diagnostics functions all from the easy-to-use HMI controller.

Basic Compression Machines are compatible with the Gilson Guardian Cloud Sharing Application, purchased separately, which enables cloud storage and data management. Seamlessly communicate project information and retain detailed testing data for every test.

To perform compressive strength testing, the operator controls the load application. This is completed using full advance of the four-position lever valve to seat the cylinder and quickly apply the preload of less than half the cylinder’s compressive strength. Then, the operator manually switches the valve to the metered position to control and adjust to the load rate. The controller records the maximum compressive strength when the load applied drops below the preset percentage of the peak load.

Basic Concrete Compression Machines are outfitted with safety features to enhance safety during operation. A hydraulic safety relief valve prevents loading beyond machine capacity, and a travel limit switch stops the piston from advancing beyond limits. Hinged fragment doors made from clear Lexan™ latch securely and allow the operator to view the sample during testing.

Units are supplied ready for compression testing of 6x12in (152.4x304.8mm) concrete cylinders with user-supplied unbonded neoprene capping pads and steel retainers. Accessories are available to adapt the frame for additional testing of cylinder sizes, beams, cubes, cores, and grout prisms. Units operate on 110V, 60Hz. Add “F” suffix to the model number for 220V, 50/60Hz operation.
